FAQs
Many of the questions you may have are answered below, but please get in touch if you want to ask anything else.
We are always happy to help!
What area's do you cover?
We are based near Alford, Lincolnshire. We can travel to most areas depending on the length of time the animals are away from their permanent enclosure.
The transport is heated for the animals which means we are able to travel a bit further than most without the animals getting cold.
Are there any age restrictions?
Any attendee handling our animals must ideally be over the age of 3 years, this is due to the size of some of our animals. We do however have some smaller animals for the younger children.
To make sure everyone gets the most out of the experience we recommend that no more than 15 people attend any private event bookings, but the choice is yours.
Which animals do you bring?
We absolutely love seeing people interact with our animals and will try our hardest to bring all animals. We check all our animals at the start of everyday and if we feel that the animal is unable to attend due to health reasons we will be leaving them at home.
For example, if our animals are in "shed" this makes them lethargic and unwilling to want to do anything.
Can I pick what animals we want?
While we make every effort to bring as many different types of reptiles, there are occasionally some that we are unable to bring due to health issues or whether they are in shed as they like to hide away and cannot see very well during this time which can make them very nervous.
How to pay for bookings?
We take a 50% non-refundable deposit for all bookings. We will then take the remaining balance via cash, bank transfer or card on the day.
What events do you cater for?
We are fortunate enough to be able to provide a variety of different events including birthday parties, anniversaries, weddings, training & learning how to handle reptiles, educational visits & talks, Film & TV work, Photography, fetes and many more.
We are also able to offer holiday boarding for when you want to go away.
Are there any health & safety issues?
We do everything possible to make sure that our animals are clean and hygienic enough to handle. We encourage washing of hands at regular intervals and always carry hand sanitiser with us.
As well as doing these events, they are our pets so we pride ourselves in looking after them.
Is photography allowed?
Of course! We understand how special these occasions can be and this is not something we would want you to forget. We encourage everyone to keep flashing to a minimum as some of the animals may be startled by this. Any photos taken by us will be taken with permission and consent forms may be required to allow us to put them on our website and social media sites.
Will the animals make a mess?
While we try to keep any mess to a minimum, sometimes the animals get too excited and make a mess. We always carry disinfectant and wipes and clean it up straight away.
Are you insured?
Here at RSG Reptiles all of those that work for us are fully licenced, insured and DBS checked.
We get visits from our local authority and vet to make sure that we fully comply with all the rules & regulations and that our animals are well kept, safe and happy.
