Here at RSG Reptiles we believe that no matter your age, there will always be a fascination with animals. We can provide handling sessions for our elders in care homes. There are some people out there who have never had the chance to experience or handled live reptiles while others have amazing memories and stories to share. We are able to structure your session to allow everyone the opportunity to enjoy the company of our animals. As well as the informative talks we regularly include meet & greet sessions and room visits for those who are less mobile.
Animal Assisted Therapy
This has become even more popular within the care home industry and has particular benefits for residents with dementia. It has been proven that interacting with animals causes elevation to mood and increased energy levels, as well as promoting social behaviours and decreasing apathy and agitation. The presence of animals can trigger delightful memories of past experiences.
