Our Success Stories
Here at RSG Reptiles, we are so much more than visiting venues and events with our animals.
We strive to teach, rescue and assist in the recovery of as many animals as we can.
Below you will find some of our most memorable stories ...........
Pancake
Pancake was once a stunning Burmese Python who enjoyed visiting children on encounters. During Covid her residence was in a reptile shop, however she was kept hidden away in a back room and was forgotten about.
Thankfully she was rescued and brought to a fantastic reptile shop in Bedfordshire. When we first saw her we were absolutely devastated with the was she was treated and now looked. She was such a loving girl who only wanted to be the centre of attention and be fussed. She came to live with us and we started the process of getting her back up to health. She had regular meals, was seen by our fantastic specialist vet and was given all the love and fuss she deserved. She was treated for a respiratory infection and an eye infection and these were both cleared up perfectly. She was named pancake because of the way she lay. Due to her extreme malnutrition she was very underweight and lay "as flat as a pancake"
She now has permanent residence with another fantastic and reputable exotic animal shop in Lincolnshire and is living her best live visiting a variety of people on encounters again. He new name is ............ Princess Pancake after all the staff fell in love with her.
Larry
One day, late at night we received a message that someone had arrived back in the UK from their holidays in Thailand.
When opening up their luggage to unpack, they were greeted with a rather unusual surprise.
Larry, the Jarva Toad was looking up at him confused as to where he was.
He was picked up by us and bought back to our home where he is living a very comfortable life in his new home.
Hugo
Hugo is our Burmese Python snake. We received a call saying that someone had a snake and could no longer look after it, it was a very strange situation and the previous owner (being impatient) decided to leave his snake in a 3ft vivarium on the pavement outside a reptile shop. A lovely woman came to take him inside the warm temporarily as we weren't able to get there as quickly as her.
The following day we arrived at her house to pick up this beauty and take him home. He was fed, bathed and checked by our vet who informed us that he was pretty healthy.
He is about 6ft these days and loving stretching out in his new vivarium, he also has a wonderful appetite and enjoys getting lots of fuss and attention when he come out with us on our encounters.
